Intimate landscape photography of light hitting the side of a mountain in British Columbia

Concede – 2019

This nature photograph was taken just outside of Whistler, British Columbia. After spending 4 days in Whistler with a daily threat of rain, my family and I started the long trek back home. Along highway 99 the sun began to break through and, at the same time, we got to witness the clouds breaking up on the top of ridges. I managed to get a few photographs of this phenomenon but this was my favourite.

Light always invades the darkness. This is true every single day. We see it in a dark room when we flip a switch. We can see it every morning when the sun rises. Light has overcome darkness and darkness must always concede.
